We are honored to announce Dean Street Fine Art Gallery now represents the estate of the great Theo Wujcik. A prolific creator, he produced thousands of works over his lifetime — each pushing boundaries and driven by an innate curiosity. A master printer and educator, Wujcik taught at University of South Florida for decades, mentoring younger generations of artists and collaborating with art world giants like Ed Ruscha, James Rosenquist, Robert Rauschenberg, and many more.

"[Wujcik's] art can be compared to a process, a living tracing of the ceaseless activity of the imagination. We can think about his art in its various manifestations in terms of a new Zeitgeist, a sudden break with the past, an unexpected reversal of taste, or we can call it a last waltz with modernism"

- George S. Bolge

   CEO, Museum of Art-Deland

"Theo Wujcik was a true original whose artistic production defies categorization. The best-known and most significant artist of Florida's Tampa Bay area for decades until his passing in 2014, he was prolific, experimental, and completely dedicated to art, producing an exceptional and eclectic body of work."

- Valerie Ann Leeds, PhD

   Curator

"[Wujcik's] works reflect an artist who was dedicated to both his personal practice and to a constant engagement with others."

- Katherine Pill

   Senior Curator of Contemporary Art

Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg

The collection includes 14 large-scale paintings, preserved lovingly and carefully, unseen for years.

Every painting is available for acquisition — a rare chance to collect work from one of Tampa Bay’s most significant artists.

Known for his fearless experimentation, Wujcik's paintings blend bold color, raw emotion, and unexpected materials. Texture, gesture, and edge were his language.

Wujcik's archives are masterfully preserved at Hillsborough College, including paintings, prints, sculpture and even Theo's personal handwritten notes.

In November 2025, Gallery 221 at Hillsborough College presented the Exhibition: Theo Wujcik: Tempo, Tampa, an extensive retrospective of the artist's life and work. To view images from this exhibition, click here.
